  1. 1) Anecdote isn't data. 2 unhappy people doesn't mean all of Crimea didn't want to rejoin. 2) If you insist on personal stories, here: I was visiting Poland some years ago, and met 2 Crimeans of Ukrainian descent. Asked them what they thought of the annexation. Can you guess what the answer was? They said they were for the "reunion". If there was any place where they could voice their displeasure with Russia and feel safe, it was Poland. Yet, they didn't. Frankly I think you've done no research on the topic as the evidence is overwhelming. The referendum in 1994, when Russia and Ukraine were allied; Gallup and Pew polls conducted in Crimea, the Canadian Free Crimea polls, Ukrainian polls, German polls, all bring back the same answer. Before, during and after the annexation, the Crimeans overwhelmingly supported the move. If even Ukraine's own voting data shows consistent pro-Russian votes in the last 3 elections, I don't know what else you need to get it through your skull.
