  1. ​ @ZugZugMahogny  Has it not occured to them that treating Russia with distrust will just make it feel betrayed and start acting like they were afraid it would? It's a self fulfilling prophecy— if you give Russia no stakes, treat it like a villain no matter what it does, then it will act like one. All stick and no carrot is a terrible way to pacify a former adversary. What does it have to lose, if Poland and the Baltics will hate it and want US weapons pointed at Russia no matter which government is in charge of it?
