@art-5464 I can understand that... some friends of mine from Chicago commented on the struggle of giving up friends when they moved up in life because they weren't "real" anymore, just because they weren't poor. There is a difficulty with the victim mindset, but it's hard to break when it permeates society. It's a self-fulfilling prophecy- how are you going to consider yourself equal, when everyday people remind you otherwise? It's also worth mentioning that we're living in the tail-end of racist policies. Redlining was only outlawed completely about 40 years ago. Whether black people in the US can pull themselves out of their disadvantaged role is a question of time, time that hasn't passed yet. We just need to wait.
