  4.  @naapsulusmurmurusmurmurus2392  No not really. Those lands were inhabited by Tatars before, and they were absolutely expelled though it was to destroy the last pieces of the Mongol Hordes. After that it was largely barren for decades until Russian settlers started to populate the area. That was true for northeastern Ukraine, southeastern is a different story. But my point is you're wrong
