  1. ​ @MrWilliGaming  I think the difference is that they wouldn't claim to be "civilizing" those places. At least other powers are honest with you when they colonize. The Western colonial powers, on top of being colonizers, were smug, self-righteous, insufferable zealots. It somehow made colonizing even worse.

  2.  @MrWilliGaming  Yes, it makes the colonizers less hypocritical and annoying. It betrays that they know what they are doing is wrong because they sugarcoat the language instead of being frank about what is going on. Also you misspelled "colonizing", what civilizing?
