@terjeoseberg990 Who's delusional? Russia's economy weathered being the most sanctioned country on Earth. If that's not at least resislience, if not a demonstration of strength, I don't know what is. People like you were saying 2 years ago that the economy would collapse altogether. Then when it didn't, move the goalposts and say that it would shrink. Then when it didn't, say that it would stagnate. Then when it didn't, just lie, like you're doing now.

If we're talking about winning wars, though, your gear doesn't need to be advanced. You just need to it be about the same as the enemy, and is produce so much they can't handle it. This is what allowed the T-34 to carry the Soviets against the more advanced but much more complex and expensive Panzer. Also, Japan is dependent on imports for almost everything, even a partial Russian naval blockade would cripple the Japanese people.

@xingxing2553 At the moment, no country can replace China. India has the population but not the manufacturing capacity. Vietnam has the capacity but not enough population. Brazil and Mexico are plagued by corruption and cartels. At the moment, China has the upper hand. It isn't as simple as "bah! We'll just find another one!" Building a manufacturing juggernaut like China's isn't possible without decades of work.

@Tenebraeification I agree. It is a fundamental disagreement of geopolitics. At the very core is security. Russia, by its geography, is an insecure nation. It can be invaded very easily. America by contrast is a very secure nation. Surrounded by water and friendly nations. Russia wants the security that America has, by expanding into buffer zones, while America wants to keep any power from rising in Eurasia (just like the British strategy). The international system likely won't hold up forever, which is what many former Russian satellites currently rely on, and what is pitched to Russia as the reason it should stop expanding. The Russo-American alliance is incompatible unless Russia were to regain its imperial borders, at which point it would have mountains and oceans on all sides except for Europe. Until then, Russia necessarily will expand. And so long as the US exists, it will oppose it.

I don't think it's anything sinister- he's just making videos for fun. And you're right, Russia and India are very unlikely to fight, our people have no bad relations with each other, we have a long political history as friends and I hope we can keep it that way!

@chairde Bruh they're literally the largest navy on earth, they're right next to Taiwan, and China makes all of our rare earth metals. There are supplies in the US but no one else refines them into usable components. Stop being an America simp and admit that China would have the upper hand lol, most Americans are dependent on things that they make.

Crimea was part of Russia for 230+ years, and tried to become independent in 1994 without Russia's help. But the Ukrainian parliament declared it illegal, despite the overwhelming domestic support. So what else were Crimeans supposed to do? They're almost completely ethnically Russian (60%+ in last Ukrainian poll), even a democratic vote would result in return to Russia. The US would never allow it. Nor would Ukraine, as they showed before. Both those areas have very good reason to be under Russian influence. The residents of those areas asked. I know it's crazy to you the idea that anyone against Russia could also be bad, but it happens. And sometimes Russias help is genuinely needed.

@chairde Yes, indeed. If we were surrounded by oceans and had a temperate climate, we wouldn't feel the need to invade. But you know how Russia is. Then again, maybe not. After all, the Americans have a penchant for invading all over the world, even though they could leave everyone alone and be happy on their island... Without your support? We'd easily take it. A few strategically placed hypersonic missile strikes, and the northern island gives Russia its long fought for year-round access to the ocean. None of this would have happened if France had given us Constantinople.

@ArizonaAstraLLC The simple answer is, they are combatants by that same logic, but the truth is that Western countries only understand the language of force. The US feels comfortable employing NATO countries because it feels assured that Russia won't attack them. If Russia were much stronger then I think both those governments would resist US military involvement, for the simple reason that they, not the US, would suffer consequences. Simple reality of force projection. All laws besides plausible deniability and precedent fly out the window.

I can't believe you're trying to make the "excuses!" excuse, when some countries literally can't place their ships in the ocean. There is a limited amount of open coastline in the world and a finite number of countries have access to it. Are all Dutch this slow in the head?

How do you expect Uruguay or Azerbaijan to access the Atlantic?? My original comment explaining that "multiple continents" isn't an achievement, the Dutch didn't earn their place next to the North Sea. Germanic tribes just got lucky to settle there not knowing what it would mean for them later on.

@seriesmovies4195 I'm aware of the situation. But the dynamic here is different than what you've just described. Russia alone brokered the peace deal. Turkey was not party to the ceasefire between Armenia and Azerbaijan. Turkey now is just trying to butt in, and insert itself into a situation that's already resolved. To take credit and boost its image as a 'Western, diplomatic, capable' country— rather than an opportunistic regional actor. Imagine a child yelling "I'm part of it too, look at how good I am!" That is Turkey right now. Trying to assert its power as a "diplomat" while fighting for one side of a war. Two-faced.

@sonic9137 Not really, Azerbaijan would likely have dragged out the war and taken even more territory back. You really think Baku would order its soldiers to stop at the foot of Karabakh? Russia stopped further conflict from happening. They convinced both parties to sign the peace deal. Armenia wanted to keep fighting (to defend what they had) and Azerbaijan also wanted to keep fighting (to take it back). By the time Turkey tried to involve itself, the fighting was over.

By the way, your argument just belies your hatred of Russia specifically. Saudi Arabia isn't democratic, even less so than Russia, yet most Americans are okay with being staunch allies. Israel illegally occupies territory on the basis of a historical claim (sounds like Crimea) yet the US fully supports it. The US does business with China, whom it also sees as commies reeee yet it does an enormous amount of business with them. Your personal view of Russia, and the reasons you gave for an alliance never occurring, are flat wrong. Sorry. Rethink your own thoughts. They're jumbled right now. Not that I'd want an alliance anyway, but your conviction that the morality of your society is what sets America apart from Russia... is very funny. Look into the democratic activities US has been up to from the Cold War.
