@johnwalsh4857 Doesn't really take away from what he said. It's not stupid if it works, and I find it hilarious that you think it's a sign of Russian incompetence to NOT do what Ukraine just failed at doing. Zaluzhniy did, in fact, float a "pause" to the counter-offensive after advancing a grand total of 15km. "They can't make big pushes and then get cut off from the back like Ukraine did" lol

@johnwalsh4857 Massive cost in lives? Russia isn't the one considering a general mobilziation and repatriation of Russians abroad, but Ukraine is. I would argue even if we ignore that Russia has 4x Ukraine's population, it isn't suffering very heavy losses. Otherwise it would be doing the same thing as Ukraine. I don't think they'll have any issue with keeping this up, it's actually a pretty conservative strategy that doesn't strain logistics and chips away at Ukraine's manpower little by little. And the Ukrainians did get cut off, in the Lysychansk cauldron last year and increasingly in Avdiivka right now. The Russians control the waste heap and are closing the pincer southwest of the city proper. You don't see them retaking those cities because the game right now is slow progress. Day by day. No one saw Russia getting past Bakhmut either, yet here we are.

@arthas640 You're comparing Russia from the 1990s to Russia now? Great critical thinking skills you got there. I implore you to consider how much of your assumptions about Russia's capabilities are correct given every single prediction about the Russian economy has been wrong so far. It didn't collapse of even contract like Western analysts said it would, the oil price cap isn't being enforced, the economy is actually running too hot for its own good (prompting the Russian Central Bank to raise interest rates even higher), and most importantly, Russia keeps inching West. With all that in mind, where do you get the confidence to say "yeah everything before was wrong but THIS is totally true"? Like, what is qualitatively different about the information you're getting this time that you're convinced a collapse is oncoming? That's what they said last time, with the same level of thorough research to back it up, no amount of Ruzzian propaganda can stall the inevitable.. until it never happened. They were all wrong. I hope I've gotten my point across here. Don't ever put your eggs into one basket, or as we say don't split the bear skin before the hunt
