@TheGuiltsOfUs Drunkennesss and adultery are still a sin, and these people- if they really believe in the Bible- should condemn every sin equally, as Jesus said. So why aren't they doing those other things??

@littlerockdoc3183 That's always been the case. The loss of collective identity comes down to no faith in the only thing that unites us- institutions. Other countries have their founding rooted in blood or culture, America is a state formed for its own sake, it has no foundation besides the state itself. So for it to survive, the state needs to be effective, because once it collapses, the differences between regions will be too great.
