@robertortiz-wilson1588 Does the paradox of the US' approach not occur to you? You are trying to convince the Cuban people that their government is bad... by making them incapable of doing any trade with anyone you do trade with. That seems contrived- if the Cuban government is really that bad, of it's own merit, and the US us correct in its judgement, why is it going to such lengths to artificially hamper the Cuban government's development efforts. Also, manufacturing a crisis proposing that you swoop in to solve it is exactly the reason why Batista got kicked out. You can't just do whatever you want, the people will smell your bs and revolt. Rightfully so.

@petercharlery7661 Not really. The value lost to the Cuban economy far outstrips whatever they didnt pay off. Keeping it up is just a sign that the US is extremely petty and insecure behind its hegemonic veneer. It loathes the idea of not being untouchable, like a spoiled, prodigial child.

@MK_ULTRA420 This doesn't make me incorrect. The US simply hates the idea of an adversarial country near its borders, the one place where it starts to understand how russia feels daily

Well, raise the stakes to that level, and Russia gets to negotiate however it likes. If nukes and weapons on your border is the type of thing that makes you nervous, think about how Russia feels about NATO.

@robertortiz-wilson1588 And people wonder why Russia is so aggressive. Proposing a presidential assassination for involvement in a country outside the US' jurisdiction. If you're not going to play by any rules, you cannot command others to, either.
