  1.  @pololavish5774  This looks like an American problem, though. More liberal countries don't have this kind of inefficiency. Unions in other countries just aren't this slow to fix things lol

  2. Two things to consider: government money paid for these roads in the first place, in the 1940's. Also, eventually the roads would turn into a bumpy patchwork and someone would need to repave. Companies could do it, but only for the places that can afford it. So what will the poor neighborhoods do, without tithe government stepping in every once in awhile?
