Not gonna work. Companies and wealthy individuals already divert their taxes offshore, by listing their profits under shell companies. Raising taxes will only encourage more rich people to do the same. There needs to be international cooperation to prevent them from dodging taxes. (Since many funnel their taxes through Ireland, the Cayman Islands, and Bermuda.) Put a stop to that, and we've got progress. Otherwise, the rich will continue to hoarde.

C caymer Marsailles' ghettoes don't hold a candle to these dumps. Even they have some sewage systems. The U.S. has deluded itself into believing that individuals can pave their own way and do absolutely anything on their own— hence the refusal to help the poor. At least in France it's understood that poverty is a cycle that's only broken from the outside, or with pure luck.

So you think they actually prefer hookworms in their feet to save a few hundred dollars (that they obviously spend on luxuries, I mean look at that glittering trailer park)? How dumb are you?

@Zazuban Also, could you list some examples? What cheap ways have you come up with to store your house's sewage, that you could save up for on a (assuming they've got two jobs) $14/hour job?

@hvymtlrlz87 The state is controlled by Republicans. Their Congressional houses are Republican. They have the power and money, and choose not to help. Hence, their problems continue.

@JoeyMace28 That's true. Democrats and Republicans aren't all that different. The reason I think Dems are better is because they have to at least try, to slightly improve the lives of their constituents (since their big thing is "diversity" and "universal rights"). They're normally beholden to their voters, while Republicans (voters and Congressmen) tend to believe that misfortune is the result of a moral mistake or poor choices, and that it's your job to fix it, not theirs. (Not sure what they're useful for then but that's just my opinion).

@JoeyMace28 Thank you for the respectful comment! May I ask why?
