@A1M8E7 But dictatorship doesn't require communism. They're capitalists through and through, the only difference is the amount of control the state has over ec0nomic affairs. I'd say both the US and China are bad in that sense- they're either side of an extremist approach.

@theylied1776 You're not too well-read, are you? In Imperial Russia (and Ukraine be extension), сельское общество and сільське товариство were communes formed by former peasants and serfs. Ownership of land was given to the community instead of the individual. In Paris, the commune was formed from March to May in 1871. If I'm not mistaken, Marx actually visited it during its existence.
