@sujith3914 I think the story about Mao wanting to change Chinese into a Latin-script-based language is the biggest sign of this (though I've also heard it's a myth?) Honestly I dont think the CCP cares about the culture all that much since so much of it has nothing to do with political legitimacy (hence the revival of regional cuisine, clothing, art, etc). They don't give a shit about material culture, it is immaterial culture (worldview, religion, cultural openness, philosophy) that they care about.
