  2. They're not thinking that far ahead. They just want to generate profits for their donors while they're elected. Anything that happens afterwards is someone else's problem. Democracy is a double-edged sword. Short political terms create short-term thinking.

Most don't want to risk it in Mexico, Canada's border is guarded, and the only other way to leave (because the US is surrounded by oceans) is to pay for a plan ticket. But that's controllable by the government. They're uniquely lucky in that regard. People in other countries can sneak across the border when things get bad. In the US there is no border to cross

  5. By that logic real wage increases are simply impossible. There are periods where most wage increases go to workers rather than managers or executives (who are ultimately the ones who collectively decide what to price things at).

  7. ​ @blugaledoh2669  Make. The ads less intrusive (like they used to— limit it to banner ads, 1 pre-video ad max) and more people will unblock. Or just accept that YouTube (or Google) is already heavily subsidized by the government. So we all pay for it indirectly anyway.
