  1. Yes, I find the language strange. The US obviously supports Ukraine, but to say that it is being 'robbed' of 'the right' to transport gas... That's just delusional. The US wants it both ways: for Ukraine to be economically independent from Russia, but at the same time have leverage over it by forcing Russia to keep pumping gas through its territory.

  4. If I'm not mistaken, Norway is richer in oil than natural gas. Plus, this solution goes both ways. If Russia's gas is cut off, prices throughout Germany immediately rise. I don't think diversifying is a bad thing, but I fear that such tactics could drive an even deeper wedge between Russia and Europe .
