  2. Yes, but the benefit will not be long term. It will create construction and tourism jobs, but no ship will pass through because it is not profitable to pay anything just to pass. Cheaper to just wait for the Bosphorus to let them through. Turkey will spend much more money than it earns from this canal. So long term economic benefit is negative. Only thing it will do is allow US ships to sail to Russia, but that will be bad for Turkey too since tourists don't want to vacation near a warzone.

  3.  @shamimfoysal4641  Turkey is not legally not allowed to block traffic through Bosphorus. All they can do is conduct "inspections". And Russian cargo ships won't pay Turkey to pass, so it will always be clogged. So many will be waiting in line that it might be impossible for ships to even pass through the canal!
