@paulghignon4092 Give it time. Those were Republican cities well into the 70s, the damage of redlining hasn't been undone yet (ironically, because of more conservative, richer residents blocking new development like shown in the video).

@specimenlarry6068 Well it's kind of hard to separate Republican pokicy from sheer luck .. remember that 40s-70s also happened to be the postwar boom. There will probably never be a time like that (US intact, rest of the world bonbed and needs US goods) in history. Not to mention, lots of problems for cities (and rural areas, US in general) were caused by Republicans. It was Nixon after all who sold out jobs to China, and Reagan who kept it going. (Clinton is also to blame too though) They didnt create a boom, they were at the end of it :(
