Sure, they don't oppress their own citizens. But they're more than happy to do it to other countries! And if you ask me, that's not morally any better. Unless you think Americans are 'worth more' than others?

@zzman305 "Probably not" More like absolutely not. Not even the Soviets managed to cause as much long-term damage as the Americans, across such a variety of countries. Both sound equally bad. I'm still not seeing why you think it's better if "we" kill someone "not one of us" rather than someone who is. And I think I'm justified in a tu quoque when you just tried to downplay American assassinations and beef up Soviet ones, just because... USA #1? Equivalency is just a matter of fact here. Both murdered, don't justify one just because you're "on their team." Fucking ridiculous. I'm not sure what you think the Cold War has to do with morality- it was a measure of ideological, economic, and political power, not who's ideas were "right". Propping up Pinochet, the Iranian Shah, Batista, Savimbi, and so, so many others, is not moral.

I suppose we were more merciful than you were. But go on, tell me how we're more evil than the Nazis, who wanted to wipe 200M+ people off the face of the Earth. I'd love to hear from the founders of Jim Crow and mass lobotomies, forced sterilization and chattel slavery. Do tell. And I'd really restrain from talking about failures, especially right now, given your global status as a covid cesspool. Enjoy your healthcare that is tied to your job- consider yourself lucky if you can do online work, because your genius system has ensured that the very same people most susceptible to catching the virus are no longer insured for treatment. I'll say it again, so there's less for you to pivot to: I said, "And if you ask me, that [suppression of citizens in other countries]'s not morally any better"_ My question has remained the same this entire time. Even as you've gone off on tangents about the total death toll somehow dictating the morality of American current actions. Again: Why do you consider a domestic assassination "worse" than a foreign one? Is one person's life worth more than another? I'm happy to discuss the other points, but you have to stop sidestepping the question. I'm not spending my time here to argue, I just want a straight answer. Does the American think foreign assassinations are morally more okay than domestic ones?
