Well, most people who rock the dad bod aren't packing pounds of muscle underneath-- same deal with sumo wrestlers. Sure they're fat, but it's subcutaneous, not visceral fat. And they train got hours to build muscle underneath. That kind of body takes real dedication

@boranbkk4270 I completely believe you- but I also think it depends on sport. Since Muay Thai was established (Thailand) where most people aren't fat, new people coming into the sport also will not be fat- because the original fighting style was not developed in a fat country, or fat tradition. Sumo, on the other hand, developed without weight classes, so the advantage went to whomever was the biggest- since all sumo wrestlers entering the sport were already training to be strong, the only difference between them was size. And the fact that food became more available in the 1900s, sumo wrestlers got bigger. And lastly, losing in a sumo match is just getting hit out of the ring, not getting knocked out. So stamina isn't absolutely necessary if you can attack quickly.

@apollon011 This was harsh and thorough, but much needed. Thank you for the critique of his dish- not so sure that I will make it in the near future, but I will certainly keep watching. I will say though, not all 'northern' food is bad: Russian, Swedish (meatballs, mostly), and Finnish food are all very tasty. Some dishes are definitely an acquired taste, but there are many hearty (yes, it's for energy!) dishes that I would die for.

@davidec.4021 It is not so common in Russia, either- our Central Asian and Kavkaz groups do eat it though, so it is not illegal.

Probably an ice box, or had workers take it quickly to a mountaintop
