@celiaroman15 This is a fundamental issue of will. How do we treat those who have done awful things? Do we fall back on the (kind of conservative) argument of "well, he shouldn't have done it!" ? Or, do we dig deeper, at the risk of finding out there's no justification for revenge-based justice at all? That our sense of righteousness from putting people in prison and being comforted in the idea that they'll rot in there, on our dime— is wrong?
