  1. I guess it's a little late to ask him, but depending on his views, he might have preferred to go out with his dad then live the rest of his life without him. Of course they both left a grieving family behind, and I'm not sure even the father can be faulted (I assume they didn't speak directly to the engineer when he spoke out about the safety features) but I have a small grain of hope that he took comfort in being with his dad in his final moments.
