@dsuper1710 That doesn't really discount the fact that there are 4+ indigenous ethnic groups in Japan, only the subjective "large" Taiwanese and Korean communities falls under.. how'd you put it? 'Completely asinine.' This doesn't really address the issue of Okinawans, who prior to WWII, had their own distinct culture and for all intents and purposes weren't classifiable as Japanese. Their language was within the same family, but on a different branch. This would make them comparable to what Dutch are to Germans today. They and the Ainu, properly counted, would double the percentage of non-Japanese in Japan.

Yeah.. I mean Russia is even bigger and more spread out and we somehow manage a public transport system, at least in the cities. The Trans-Siberian railroad at least has a charm to it. The L is Chicago is their pride and joy, "engineering marvel" but whenever I go it's just shitty. Always late, slow, small cabin, and dirty. Don't even get me started on Metra, the friction between its wheels and the track squeals like a dying pig whenever it even slightly turns. Just fucking sad and pathetic.

There used to be Okinawans and Ainu but the former assimilated after Americans occupied Japan and the latter has been slowly dwindling for centuries

@xxxXKPoPXxxx I'm just waiting for that one 110 year old tunnel to collapse (I forget its name) collapse the eastern seaboard economy lol Maybe if we make politicians reee about how much better China is then they'll devote money to "beating the commies" no?

@IskandarTheWack I'm sorry but Chicago isn't a great city either. Public transport is shitty compared to even C tier European countries, (L is slow, loud, delayed and expensive; buses are even worse) and so many poverty stricken areas in the downtown that there isn't a cohesive cityspace. Just little pockets of urban city with areas whites are scared to even step foot it, until it is gentrified. Not to mention corruption that stretches back to the 1980s. I love the people and culture but the city design itself is just bad. Who decided to build a strict grid design (letting the wind go straight through streets for miles) in a place already called the Windy City?!
