  1. Yes, but much of the political instability in Mexico and South America was caused directly by the US. (Kicked out Evo Morales over an election count delay in 2019, tried to pass off Juan Guaido as Venezuela's President, created the cartels in Mexico by forcing them to outlaw weed, overthrew Guatemala's President and replaced him with a dictator for decades, etc etc) So it is at least partially the US' responsibility to help the people whose countries it destroyed on purpose. Of course I don't like it but for a different reason: the best and brightest leave and keep those countries weak, leaving them vulnerable to more US interference. If people stopped coming to the US, it would face a labor crisis, and maybe stop bombing other places for their oil.
