@nob2243 He's not stupid, he's just brazen. Like any other Russian doing shady business on the streets you need to be ruthless and make it known. This is how he got to the top, it's all he knows, he just thought that conducting mutiny with the same loud brutishness would work and members of Russian military would publicly support him. When that didn't work he accepted his fate and backed down to keep the effort in Ukraine from stalling or collapsing.

@cul8terworld Seems unlikely. A standard flight from Moscow to SPb? No way that would just fall out of the sky. It's a hit job and most people understand it to be this. It was just done in a way that could be plausibly denied.
