@humble_roots Problem is, the transitory period between our current system and the intended system. This is (I mean, among a slew of other factors) why the Soviet Union fell back into its historical mode of authoritarian rule (no different than Tsarist Russia really, at least in governance style). To go from a capitalist to a socialist society, you'd have to start somewhere. Violent revolution (sorry, Marx) tends to kill industry, which also kills the whole point of socialism to begin with. So, you'd have to convince some company to remodel its corporate structure- by destroying it. Not exactly an easy feat. This doesn't take into account stocks, which are in a way the lifeblood of capitalism. How is ownership of a corporation to be distributed when everyone collectively owns it? Do we abolish stocks? It's simply too big a problem with so many details needing to be worked out for a smooth supplantation that it won't realistically work (at least not in our current climate).
