  2. Hopefully, they learned their lesson last time not to do that. I don't think Putin is blind to the fact that the only reason the U.S. is even in the region is because of Russia's mistake.

  3. But he already has. Siberia's resources (timber and ivory in particular, since the Chinese love driving elephants to extinction) are being prostituted for China. Russia may well have nothing left for itself beyond the money that its oligarchs made the during the sellout.

  4. Unfortunately, yes. I have the same feeling as well; Russia's demography is dwarfed by China's. Even with technology (which is not exclusive to them), they will have a hard time defending against Chinese soft power. I had hoped Putin would, if not institutionalize the government's offices, then at least diversify its industries. I fear for my country's future.
