  1.  @sickrantorum693  How, exactly? You can't just say whatever you like and have it automatically be true. You have to prove that it's "utterly irrelavant". NATO conducts wargames near Russia's border. Ukraine is extremely flat and connected to the rest of Europe. And the US has shown a willingness (twice, now) to lead NATO bombing campaigns on countries it doesn't like, or who try to challenge its economic authority. You're basically asking Russia to look at Europeam countries pretend to invade Russia, over and over again, and not feel threatened?

  2.  @JanBruunAndersen  Depends on proximity. People alive today remember Germany's attempt. And we were assured just as much then that it would "never happen". Even more recent, the US made a habit of pointing nukes at our capitol. I would sooner use a western treaty to wipe my ass than sign it.
