Art of war 3: Unless you are Mongolia

We would need some independent reports or for something to leak to confirm this. Like, records of who was deployed to Avdiivka before the encirclment, how many got out, and how many prisoners the Russians took. Anything short of that is speculation

Doesn't really matter which one, as long as it is easy to say in English. We say Bakhmut but also Dnieper.

@johnmabbett6586 I suspect at some point the US will be kicked out of Syria and their advance warning will be cut down significantly.

@arostwocents I don't think it's a plan they thought of, but they will probably attempt it now. Credit must be given though, Ukraine found an empty spot and went in unopposed

@glennallen1984 Admittedly no, mostly with privates and sergeants. I always understood it to be a rather meritocratic system, at least with respect to promoting among those on active duty. Your success can't be faked in a war. You either win or lose.

@glennallen1984 In terms of long-term political goals? Quite a few. After devastating N. Korea, they isolated it and kept S. Korea stable enough to be a dependable ally, rather than "allied so long as they're constantly kept on life support". Same is true of Japan and to an extent Vietnam.

@basilhanas8453 I guess. But that's the beauty of it— America is never fighting anyone on equal terms. Why bother with adjusting your doctrine to a situation that simply never happens? You have the luxury of tactics that other countries simply cannot even dream of doing.

@mikska Haven't heard that name in a while. Great joke, lol

@Restrocket Because Turkey isn't a benevolent actor. They're opportunists who ultimately just want the Ottoman Empire back. They will betray the HTS the second it becomes convenient. The Turks are not to be trusted. And them having power just makes a multi-polar world more volatile.

Now that is a combination you don't see every day
