  1. Since Ukraine is aggressively flat, probably around major cities and wherever there is some minor elevation. Probably lots of defenses around rivers too, since those are more defensible when it's warm. I would imagine they have some defenses in the Carpathian mountains. Besides this not much else to leverage for defense. How does one defend a plain?
