@AnnRamiez no they’re not being held liable for that either. Parents are allowed to buy their kids guns. What they aren’t allowed to do is neglect their kids mental health and give them easy access to guns without supervision. THAT is what they are on trial for.

Damn dude I think you might be onto something. I’m trying to make sense out of how he packed it in his bag before school but didn’t use it. He was thinking about it and so he doodles instead? Instead of just doing it? Not until his parents confirmed they could not care less about him did he go for it. This what happens when you emotionally neglect a child. Narcissism causes so much trauma 😢

@elizabethruiz6545 no they wouldn’t because narcissists do not feel guilt, because they don’t have the ability to feel empathy. That means they also don’t have the ability to love. So imagine that- neither parents loved him. Gee I wonder why he’s so messed up!

Wrong. The school cared and took action. The parents couldn’t be bothered. The school can’t magically make parents care. They can call CPS but that doesn’t do anything anytime soon if at all. Their hands were tied. They didn’t wanna send a kid home by himself if he was sui- cidal. So keeping him in school was their only other choice.
7
@Y15-l5n he went back and forth. It was his parents failing him AGAIN that pushed him to actually do it.
5
They also failed as HUMAN BEINGS.
5
You don’t get to just go through someone’s stuff without permission from parents. And the school literally did everything they could. Wtf did you want them to do, hold a G U N to the parents heads and forced them to remove Ethan? They also had VERY limited knowledge of how bad it really was because the parents downplayed everything. Get a clue.
5
That is because you’re a good parent and not a narcissist. ❤️
5
I all but guarantee you they have been doing that since he was born, and esp now. They don’t love him. 😢

Anddddd this is why lawyers beg their clients but to take the stand!! There was no way she could answer that without shooting herself in the foot. Had she admitted she regretted anything the prosecution would use that to mail her coffin shut. For me it was the WAY she abruptly and without any reservation said she wouldn’t change anything

@shelleykennedy2857 I’m a new tecaher and we had a school shooter drill for my first time and some kids asked me what the drill was for and my gear sank and I didn’t have the balls to tell them. Some other kid told them tho 😢

@lavyap676 schools will never search a kid just because he’s emotionally disturbed. They need cause, or they need parents to give permission. Some schools might have parents wave their right upon signing up for enrollment but not all.
2
For what? More disturbing doodles? LOTS of kid draw disturbing sht and don’t have G U N S. Also- unless they have cause they don’t have the authority to check backpacks. Either parents have to agree or they have to sign their rights away upon signing their child up for school.
2
From what I can tell the school didn’t neglect his pleas for help and then put a gun in his hand instead. Are you for real? 🤦🏻♀️
2
@loveforeignaccents yeah no. It’s because they tried to help him and they didn’t hand him a gun. That’s why.
2
Nope. Not even the same thing. One deals with a specific person and neglecting that persons needs and the other is a sweeping generalization based on loose assumptions. Also, making stuff illegal doesn’t make it go away (hello!! The war on drugs, anyone?!) and in fact only makes for more crime. This is not even about guns. If it were then every child with a gun in their home would shoot up schools. This is purely about child abuse and the consequences. Ethan’s parents are narcissists and having ONE narc for a parent will cause some pretty horrific mental illnesses but BOTH? The kid never stood a chance. He was basically groomed to kill. Furthermore, there are gun safes and locks and all sorts of safety precautions for responsible gun owners. Ethan’s parents used NONE of them. THAT is the problem (neglect). Your comment is akin to a kid using their gifted sports car to run people over with and you saying that cars should be illegal now. Dig deeper. If you wanna judge Americans- judge us for our abysmal mental health. 50% of us have mental illnesses. And it’s a never ending cycle. James and Jennifer are narcs but didn’t become that way randomly. Their parents were narcs and so on. It’s passed down through the cycle of abuse. THAT is the problem here, not guns.
2
Bad parents who created a disturbed child because they’re bad parents. Children are never bad. The parents get to take that label on all for themselves.
2
Sadly this case won’t do anything to toe vent school shootings because the parents are all f’n narcissists!! That would be like trying to reason with a toddler. Their brains are broken.
1
Boo hoo for you?
1
The parents almost always are the cause!! Mental illness doesn’t manifest out of no where. In most cases you need severe abuse to cause it to develop.
1
Parent of the year! 🤮
1
K? You do realize that’s not even close to what happened here, right? 🤦🏻♀️
1
No.
1
You’re not Ethan and you don’t have his parents. Let’s not compare ourselves to him. I have my own stuff. My dad was also a narcissist and now I have borderline personality disorder as a result. That’s considered the most painful mental illness that exists. I haven’t killed anyone either but I’ve done plenty other than that. Ethan is likely a sociopath. So unless there are any sociopaths in the comments, we ar comparing apples to oranges by comparing ourselves to him. His parents caused his brain to develop improperly because of their abuse and neglect. This is what happens. This is why sociopaths kill willy nilly.
1
Ps she’s so narcissistic she doesn’t realize how tacky and insensitive that comment is.
1
Hey D U M M Y, they’re not being charged for the actions of their kid and you’d know that if you paid attention. They’re being charged for enabling it. Something that no other school shooters parents have been found guilty of. DERRRR. If a parent gets their child drunk and then puts them in a car and tells them to go racing, and that kid kills someone accidentally or on purpose- you’re f’n right those parents aren’t going home free. Same exact thing happened here but with a G U N. Use your brain- it’s that pea-sized organ between your ears. 🤦🏻♀️
1
Lol the issue isn’t that he is troubled 🤦🏻♀️ it’s that the parents NEGLECTED their duties. So maybe don’t adopt a troubled kid if you intend to neglect them.
1
Yeah- let’s judge an entire country of 350 million people based on one F’d up family 🙄 I don’t even have guns or care for them but your comment is so ignorant. This isn’t about guns. It’s about child abuse. Tons of American kids own guns and don’t do this.
1
Meh- that’s actually totally wrong and American kids have had guns since this country was first birthed. Notice how most don’t go shooting up schools? And how most parents LOCK THE GUNS UP? The issue here is that the parents are terrible people and don’t love their own child.
1
@elonaujkashi8665 what are you babbling about? No one said they didn’t care about the victims 🤦🏻♀️
