  2. Are you psychic? How do you know his legs aren’t shackled? The defendant isn’t supposed to be restrained where the jury can see it because that biases them and can lead to a winnable appeal. Even Ted Bundy is as not restrained in court. That’s why there are Marshall’s. The problem is that they didn’t do their job when the judge was attacked. I’m sure they learned their lesson. I hope.

  4. What he did was NOT ok and he needs to own up to that, but I have a huge problem with the way she issued her ruling. She should have responded to his claims and explained why his argument fell flat. Her “I just can’t with that history” remark, followed by her sentence was extremely dismissive and haughty. A good judge explains why they are giving the sentence they are giving and she didn’t do that. He came to her with a lot of BS and she should have taken 60 seconds to respond to his terrible argument for leniency - saying that he was a changed man. Instead she spoke AT him and not TO him. She’s a pretty new judge so maybe that’s why but if your goal is to teach a lesson and reform (to keep it from happening again), it’s a good rule of thumb not to treat defendants like sht on your shoe. Just sayin…

  5. You do realize that is what his lawyer did and his lawyer is doing his JOB? The guy is still entitled to a defense. Just like Sarah Boone is entitled to claim battered wife syndrome. It’s complete nonsense but the jury is the judge on that, not us. I don’t get when ppl get offended by a lawyer only doing their job. 🤷🏻‍♀️

  6. The judge is NOT the state. The state is the prosecution. The judge is anonymous and unbiased- hence the robe.

  7. This is the result of severe abuse/neglect and drugs in the baby’s system at birth. And we give women sht for having abortions but when women are mentally ill and forced to have babies- this is the result and then we wonder why someone is so messed up in the head. All of this causes the brain to develop improperly- causing over reactions to stimulation and zero impulse control. He IS mentally ill but we don’t have much compassion when it manifests as rage. Don’t get me wrong, what he did is not ok and he needs to face that, but I’m sick of the judgmental comments in this thread. The dude was set up to fail in life.

  8. How do you know his legs aren’t? And no, the jury cannot see him in shackles cause it creates bias. They likely have extra security and leg shackles.

  9. Defendants cannot be cuffed! That biased the jury and he could easily win in appeal if they did that. They obviously took precautions because do you see him leaping up? No. He’s chained in place.
