This is called narcissism, not mental illness. Her family has always coddled her and never taught her that it’s ok to not be perfect. So when life happened and college was harder than she anticipated, she couldn’t handle it. It also explains her panic disorder (all narcs have anxiety). Then she couldn’t handle the DEEP SHAME that narcissists feel when they are exposed for being imperfect. So she got triggered and impulsively ended her own mom just to protect that inflated ego of hers. It’s why Chandler Halderson did the same exact thing. Her parents aren’t victims, THEY created this monster. As someone who also was an honor student I can attest to the kind of pressure we endure. I have borderline personality disorder because my father was a narcissist and my mother was passive/permissive just like her dad. Sarah Boone is def a narcissist and she can’t wait to tell you about her GPA 🙄. My point is, we can be honor students and not have out sht together mentally. And oftentimes that need to be perfect and always get A’s is a direct result of narcissistic abuse where our parents only give us love if we make them look good. I think that’s what happened here. She was never allowed to fail and this is what happens when you’re coddled your entire life and then set free as an adult. There’s a very good reason it’s called “spoiling your child”. It literally mutates their development.
