  1. That is not bad at all for gas mileage! I think my old GLI would get mid-30s on the highway, and it was a DSG car, too. Of course, fuel economy is not a priority for me since I work from home, but I can appreciate a fun car with good fuel mileage. I just took my IS 350 on a weekend trip and was essentially just driving 75-80 MPH for six hours, and I only managed to get about 32 MPG on the way out and 29 on the way back. It does sting a little bit to do that mid-trip fuel stop. Incidentally, my brother has a 2019 Civic hatchback with the 1.5 turbo and CVT, and I happened to see on his dash while I was visiting him on this trip that he had been averaging about 41 MPG as well. That's simply amazing for a daily driver that's purely ICE-powered that also isn't a tiny subcompact. He is thinking about upgrading into the new Civic, and I have approved of this idea.
