  5. Laura Ingalls Wilder (Little House on the Prairie) never saw a buffalo, either. But I did, in the 1980s. I saw a small herd in the San Francisco zoo, eating straw. I went with the Stanford Outing Club. It hurts me that I didn't bring my camera to take a picture.

  8. My first caregiving job was working with a woman born in 1888. She passed away 3 days before her 90th birthday. I'm a HUGE Laura Ingalls Wilder fan (the author of Little House on the Prairie). She was born in 1867. She too got her first job in 1881, as a seamstress.
