  2. I wonder how often such issues are brought on by sexual assault, or the threat of it. When I was going through puberty in the early 70s, I lived in an atmosphere that was sexually hostile. I often wondered if I would be better off as a boy, since girls were victimized so often. I also wondered if there was a way to stop, or even reverse, my physical maturation. I stopped wondering when I discovered boys get victimized, too - in some ways, even worse than girls.

  3. I agree with everything you said, except that being gay is a choice instead of an orientation. There are plenty of gays who don't grow up in dysfunctional homes. Gender dress and behavior is largely by society. Just because one gender prefers the traits of the opposite one doesn't mean that person should undergo an operation and hormone therapy to change. If a boy wants to wear skirts, it makes more sense for him to move to Scotland.
