@Yooper2024 cal has shut down 10 power plants in the 2 decades, and built no new ones, why? profit for the company. and ask someone with solar how hot their house gets, and why all the neighbors come over in the brown outs.

@jmack619 so how many doctors take 10 years to finish school. if after medical school they take 4 more years to specialize? what if she took 2 or 3 years off for a child and went back to school? and for yourself, how long would it take you to grad just doing part time or nights as you could afford to take the classes, seems you logic is bias based. and have no ideal what people do to get a degree. you taking 12 years of college. its takes 10 to 12 years to get a PHD. if you dont stop in work in the field between college classes. by the way. my sister was 50 by the time she earned both her degrees. ex mother in law. single mom. she was also about 50. when working her way up from nurse to getting her nursing licenses, now a LPN.

how does it cost to drill a well, run pipes lines, because the ones are leaking? how much does ti take and cost to process oil into gas? and how many thousands of trucks run 24/7 to deliver that gas? and how about the expense of keeping roads up for them semis, you want to count pennies, better do the math.

@Yooper2024 we just went thru the largest and longest building boom, 30 years of new house after new house. and you know what they didn build, not a new elcertic plant in the whole country, now tell me how those lights are still on? because they have been build green to keep up production, think about that as you wonder how they gonna do it, you know HAWAII has so much green electric. the electric company has BANNED anymore to be attacked to their system, they produce more green than the syatem can take, because so many even home powners are producing more than whats needed.

@dknowles60 and how many times was Texas just shut down because they arent part of the US grid, and you know why power plants have so little back up power now.. from when Reagan deregulated them. before he did. the laws required the power companies to have enough back up to handle the worse kind of needs, but after that deregulation, no back was required by law,

@jamiewoods9222 almost 14M new US made cars are sold in the US every year. and 40M used cars are sold every year. thats 55M, of the 290M on the road, so at 14M a year. every car will be replaced in 20 years, and that counting the sales of foreign cars, so in less than 20 years ALL cars could be replaced with EVS and no one would notice,

lets do the math, average drive travels 10 - 12 thousand miles a year. so lets divide 10,000 by 5 times 52. driving to work 5 days a week. thats 40 miles a day. and a 110V charger running for 8 hours charges at 4 miles per hour, or charges 32 miles per night, so if you charged while it sists 10 hours an normal driver will keep a full charge forever. but if you run it empty because you are lazy, you would also run a gas vehicle empty as well,

@hendrikvandeventer7669 read the whole DoE report. thats a estimate WITHOUT people using solar. and with solar installation increasing 50% per year rate how would that affect those numbers. now for the solar storage. if you going to plug in a 120 charger for 8 hours. on a 20 amp circuit they are rated to use 16 amps per hour, so 16 times 8 120 amp hours. thats under 15000 watts. and thats in the range of the top end PORTABLE solar generators you use for back up or camping. so not as serious as you would imagine. or

@bradbauman7594 on a 120V charger. and driving the average of 40 miles a day 5 days a week, US average. it takes 10 hours, 5 nights a week to stay 100%, and you need a system that can store, because you charge at night at home. you need a system to hold, 2.000 watts. now you could a smaller one, but would require you to much more charging on the week ends,thats 2 of them camping solar generators paired together. and if you dont drive during the day it can charge straight from the system, the only inconvenience, if you come home sunday night on empty, then you may not get a good enough charge for work money. or you can drive all week, and let it sit all weekend and charge, if you want to be lazy.

some sillt facts. most natural gas lines are 75 years old, thats alot for steel pipe in the ground, and guest what, natural gas prices as the well is the same as when Reagan was president, its the middle man who buys it and sells it to you thats making the money,

you know it was 10 years after the first ford was built before the first gas station, you had to go to the hardware store and buy it in 1 gallon cans, imagine if we was going from EVs to gas. and you had to do that.
