Uh... Last I heard, we are no more interesting than the local fauna.

Trees emit H2O which is a more potent GHG than CO2. Trees ultimately decompose when they burn down or decompose. Forest fires are a natural part of most forest life cycles.

@aaryanjadhav2822 yet we have more people alive now than ever. True story, bruh.

Ok... So H2O is a very strong greenhouse gas. While trees absorb CO2, they EMIT H2O.

@Arlae_Nova carbon isn't bad. Aside from water, it's a big portion of what you're made out of. More carbon in the carbon cycle means more life of planet earth. Stop making carbon into the villain, it's just wrong. You see, CO2 is a well mixed gas, so you would see warming higher in the atmosphere if it WERE the cause of climate change. This is not observed, through weather balloon or satellite data. Surface temps might be up slightly, but this could be from many different reasons... I mean, for crying out loud, engines that burn fossil fuels are pretty hot, where does that energy go?

Eat low carbohydrate diet. Cancer cells can't metabolize ketones.

Solar is not clean.

It's for latency between financial markets.

Pretty sure we just ran out of interesting experiments to do in particle physics. Thats why we did this.

Does it still have a ten minute battery life?

I am an expert on CO2. CO2 is not a likely cause of climate change. It has chemical bonds that are good at absorbing specific infrared wavelengths. These wavelengths are also absorbed by H2O, and H2O molecules are a lot more common than CO2. CO2 is a trace well mixed gas throughout the atmosphere. H20 stays a vapor closer to the surface, but freezes out at higher elevations. We would then expect the higher elevations to show more warming and climate models show this as well... Only problem, this is not observed in reality. The troposphere does not show warming consistent with current understanding of the climate

@SaveMoneySavethePlanet solar panels would destroy a lot of natural habitats that would displace many creatures natural homes. Furthermore, the Chinese government uses slave labor in Xinjiang to make solar panels. Finally, Chinese will not stop using coal. They will just lie about how much they are using.

@BangThaBazie the Supreme Court rulling was just and wise, the ability to regulate belongs in legislature, NOT within a bureaucratic agency of dopey experts. Just look at how bad the NIH and FDA screwed up with the pandemic. Why would you trust the EPA? You want legislation on CO2? Write to your representative and senator. I will be right there voting against you. CO2 is probably NOT the driver of climate change. Despite this, you and I just might find common ground on nuclear energy.

@gorgthesalty what's the impact of creating a forest of GMO trees? Are we sure this has no impact?
1
@jstan5802 we have grid scale batteries now. They're made out of really common materials like bismuth, magnesium, and calcium. I think the company is called AMBRI.

@vladislavgerasimov8755 Forcing anyone to do anything is not the American way. People are free to do as they please and coercion is illegal in America, though likely a misdemeanor.

13:30 what is that lovely stuff on your head?

Depends on what you mean by clean... Fossil fuels are not the cause of climate change. It's probably farming. We irrigate land with lots of water that would otherwise be arid. The water evaporates and/or transpires through the plants we are trying to grow. The released H2O is a potent greenhouse gas that is a much more likely cause of whatever problem you think there is. However... Tell people to eat less food? No... That ain't going to be popular...
