@greob dude, you're not paying attention. The government tried that in Germany, now they had to backfill their energy gap in dirty coal.

@yeetdeets well, there is a timing factor in the free market return on investment. A nuclear power plant is hella expensive to build, the mortgage in construction is going to be 10x the cost of say a natural gas power plant. You save loads of cash on fuel, but you will be paying off the loans on construction for 20 years longer than fossil fueled power plants. Eventually, the reactor will profit more than a natural gas engine, but it takes 50 years of operation with no accidents to get there.

@Izingana sounds like a conspiracy theory. Was that set back that was orchestrated related to controlling the weather so their solar cells didn't get sunlight or was global warming shifting the winds or some other bullshit excuse for renewables being substandard? I see renewables and I laugh at how stupid they actually are. They take up land that destroys natural habitats, they create pollutants that are hard to contain and ruin biomes for years, they need to operate for years for whatever carbon they would offset, and nuclear generation 4 reactors would be a much better solution.

I am not the problem. I refuse responsibility for the energy crisis.

So... 70 years ago there was a drought that was just as bad if not worse. 70 years ago, there wasn't enough anthropogenic CO2 to cause the alleged climate change that is causing the drought now...
