Technically speaking... The fuel is in a liquid form, so these molten salt reactors are in a perpetual meltdown. Should the fuel get much hotter, the liquid salt will expand, which would reduce the amount of fission events. It looses critical mass... And the chain reaction stops.

@gregorholmes1837 that's a strawman argument. The real problem is student loan programs. Tuition became slightly more expensive, so it was out of reach for some people. Then comes student loans, and now universities can charge slightly more for some students. Note that they don't charge more for all students, they get by in scholarships. There was a spiral out of control where the universities could charge more and more each year, win more and more government handouts... The goal of the university became a money extraction scheme, rather than promotion of scholarship.

@dalewier9735 you are correct. It was never free unless you won a scholarship. It was, however generally affordable if you worked your ass off. My dad did a few years in the steel mills around Cleveland to pay his tuition. Got two masters degrees in physics and chemistry. Was going to get a doctorate, but decided to drop out because he was listed as draft eminent for 'nam. He was ultimately never selected, so that was a win...

Who is the you that is modifying your brain to react differently? Who is it that chooses your destiny? Just because the MRI scanner can identify what decision can be made before we make a decision a few seconds before we are "consciously aware" doesn't mean really anything.

Determinism does not exist. Its mathematically impossible due to the limits of computability. The universe probably cannot be computed without running the computation. Even if you HAD omniscience of all particles, you would still have to "compute" everything to get to that point. That computation would be identical to causation flowing forward anyway.

No, All you can do is collect empiracle evidence. The evidence can be used to disprove your hypothesis, but not prove it. Hypothesis can be refined in light of new evidence.

Well.... Cooking food was the first "energy revolution". It allowed humans to gain far more energy from our food and was likely the main reason why we grew big brains. Then we harnessed animal energy so we didn't have to hunt and could use them to help plow fields when humans unlocked the agriculture skill tree. That work pretty well until the industrial revolution, now we had machines take over a lot of labor. Though wages were low, unions started and slavery was eliminated around this time. It seems that every time we harnes new energy, humans grow up a little

Light acts as a wave. Waves have a size defined by their wavelength. Particles are much smaller, perhaps points in space. Light has energy and it takes time to propagate. Heisenberg uncertainty extends to energy and time. Seems clear to me

Determinism is where this fails, I cannot believe we live in a deterministic universe. Its a mathematical paradox, there exists problems that cannot be computed. The halting problem comes to mind. Conway's game of life also... The computability of future states is an invalid hypothesis.

That is not something we could have computed from initial conditions of the universe without just letting the universe unfold as it already has. To do so would require a universe sized simulation that would be identical to the universe that you're already in.

The first evidence of so-called dark energy was the expansion of the universe. Right now, there's a hint of correlation with the expansion rate of the universe as black holes grow. Quite frankly, if a super massive black hole is running away from me faster and faster, I would say there's a fairly obvious violation of conservation of energy.

No no no... Your stellar evolution is simplified so much its wrong. Stars don't burn up ALL their hydrogen and switch over to helium burning all at once. Helium builds up in the core over time. Proton-proton fusion slows down over time because the chance of the interaction reduces because the helium gets in the way. The core contracts slightly, but occasional helium fusion events cause much more energy to be released causing a red super giant phase of helium burning.

Incorrect. Stars have very little gold in them. You gotta wait until they get all explodey. Especially with colliding neutron stars. The first stars had no gold. Our star has a wee bit from kilonova events previously. Our star will not produce any new gold unless it collects enough mass through a collision with other stars.

Superconducting rings are NOT a perpetual motion machine. The wavefunction of electrons that are alegedly "moving" could have boundary conditions that are a full loop through the ring. So you can't really say where the electrons are without collapsing the wave function
