  3. ​ @FireeditsNow-jv8jf  there was no thorium research, rather it was a molten salt reactor where they demonstrated liquid salt fission, solved a lot of corrosion problems, and empiracly tested uncontrolled operation. The scientists wanted to develop the "thorium blanket."
