  16. Sigh... Calorie deficit is how it works, but if your hormones are screwed up, your metabolism winds down and you store lots of those calories rather than burn them. Metabolism can be improved through exercise somewhat, but fasting and certain foods can manipulate hormones in certain ways to make it work overtime.

  19. Do people from India really believe in anthropogenic CO2 causing global warming? Even if it were true, life typically thrives in warmer climates. CO2 is necessary trace gas in the atmosphere, plants would really struggle below 150ppm. We're at 435ppm now, average, but pre-industrial levels were barely 250 ppm.

  24. Sheesh... it would be pretty hard to get 5° let alone 10°. GHG concentration is a logarithmic relationship to temperature. Each time co2 concentration is doubled, only half the temperature is increased. Earth might get 2 more degrees warmer even if the CO2 is doubled twice.

  30. False. It's THIRD most common. H2O vapor is by leagues and fathoms the most common greenhouse gas. CO2 is second common, but it's 200x less common in the atmosphere than H2O. Methane, ozone, and nitrous oxide are much smaller contribution than CO2.

  42. Yup, we need sleep, but we do it in private locations and rarely talk about it. We really don't mention the strange dreams we have in general public. It would kinda be pretty strange to have a parade about being a person who has strange dreams, and even weirder to run around acting like a fruit cake because of your odd dreams.

  46. She's actually quite wrong on many points. She asks somewhere in there "what is the white house doing?". The executive branch cannot do ANYTHING about this at all. You would need to go through the house and Senate to repeal the second amendment, which is highly unlikely. You could TRY to pass federal laws that ban guns, but the judiciary is going to get rid of that faster than a rabbit on a hot date. She doesn't understand American government at all. She also doesn't understand the real problem, which is probably cultural and mental health related.

  50. Precisely, some american glaciers have been growing also. They always talk about mass loss of the glacier, but that's like measuring the flow from a waterfall and trying to convince people the lake and river upstream must be drying out.
