@Dobuan75 That's Not a knife. THIS is a knife!

History didnt start at your birth, duder. Look at some data, mkay?

@FrankWhite437 no, as CO2 concentration increases, the temperature rise is logarithmic. This is empiracle. Think of it this way: there's a finite amount of infrared photons that can be absorbed. Each infrared photon can escape or get absorbed. At lower atmospheric layers, most of the infrared is absorbed by H2O. There's a few that get through, but increases in CO2 gives you diminishing returns. Double CO2 concentration and i think the temp increase could be anywhere from 1.5 to 3 degrees... Double again, you get about .7 to 1.5...

If the ocean is warming and can't absorb more CO2, then you cant have CO2 in the ocean "acidifying" it.

@LK-pc4sq surface mass balance of the Greenland ice sheet was positive last year if you don't count icebergs calving off. If the glaciers were actually receding and the surface mass balance were negative, there would be less weight push ice to the ice shelf and out to sea.

Government SAVE ME. OMG! We need the government to figure this OUT!!!
1
Such dishonesty... They said they put up sheets because their damn tunnel was letting in warm air and it got a degree or two warmer... Seriously...
1
Well, then the CO2 didn't come from humans then, the increase is coming from warmer oceans not being able to dissolve as much CO2. Apparently, its been warming for the last 200 years or so, so its natural, folks.
1
But isn't the surface mass balance of the greenland ice sheet positive? The weight of the glacier pushes it down hill. If the glaciers are shrinking, we would expect iceberg activity to at least slowdown, but this isnt the story right now...
1
True story, the surface mass balance of ice is actually highest since 2015 or so.
1
Really? There's no evidence that methane contributes greatly to any global warming and there was permafrost way further south at the end of the last ice age. The thawing permafrost then did not start any feedback loop, why would we expect one now? Do you just believe everything the government tells you? You're pretty gullible.

@justinbarber4567 there are lots of people who know better, there's always room for debate. There are thousands of scientists who disagree and don't believe that humans are causing much warming or catastrophic effects.
1
@justinbarber4567 explain the little ice age and medieval warm period, captain stable temperatures. Good luck with that.

A bleached coral is normal. The coral isnt dead, its algea component just died off. Corals routinely bleach and then become colored again, sorta like a tree loosing its leaves snd growing then back in the spring.
1
Yup. Now turn this on to climate science.
1
Life does extremely well with warmer temperatures. Corals evolved when the oceans were much warmer.
