Ok Karen.

American dream? This is an adequate description of George Washington, Thomas Jefferson and yes, Louis Rossman

Bootloader are pretty easy to hack if it's not encrypted and locked.
3
Resellers are going to break it down for parts and sell it.
3
If there were a way to unlock the CPU, the chain of trust would be compromised. For company and products that require high security, the manufacturers see the CPU in the trash bin an acceptable cost for the secure feature.

Why don't you like Trump? Just curious. He seems better than your average politician and I like his china policy...
2
Good lord... That guy needs to learn to take a chill pill. He shouldn't have felt bad, its normal banter between competitors.
2
@sevourn keep up the good work!
2
@Korkman bullshit. China banned Bitcoin because the Communist Party can't control it. I actively educate people about where they're shit comes from. So much stuff comes from third and second world countries from slave or near slave labor. It's common knowledge as far as I am concerned. Why don't the governments create and enforce laws that deal with SLAVERY as it is STILL A real problem. Governments are NOT trustworthy enough to give them anymore power. Anthropogenic global warming is not a real problem, it's a stupid fake reason to deny energy to certain people. Carbon tax is another way the governments can bilk money out of your pocket.

That's normal bodge wire, maybe a wee bit thicker than I have seen in our pilot boards...
2
Tech Jesus and probably Saint Louis have notariety. They aren't "influencers".
2
I got banned from the energy forum for suggesting nuclear power was less dangerous than fossil fuels...

Dave Jones is the shizzle.

Last time I heard, it wasn't illegal to be racist. You can't legislate morality, rather you CAN legislate personal freedom and property.
1
BWAHAHAHAA!!!
1
Way to go Darren!!
1
@rossmanngroup I had a damn good shirt once. I would sell out for another one too.
1
Yeah, i come her for the rants.
1
Hmm. I attach my identity to the things I do and stuff I build.
1
Wow cool! I am subbed to same content as woz!
1
They tried to scam me, but I canceled the card that was in autopay. After eight months or so they called me up and said that i owed them for eight months of membership. I laughed at them, then said, oh you're serious? I totally trolled 'em like three times!
1
Arm Trustzone? Signed firmware? Locked bootloader?
1
Well, they told everyone how to fix it. I could solder on those bodge wires.
1
I heard about this... Tesla can go take a long walk off a short pier...
1
In the old days, we'd crack some heads when they did unfair crap like this
1
Hey lets adapt an opensource inverter to power an ebike!
1
We call it "feeding the algorithm"
1
@Bri-bn5kt ooooo... I didn't think of that ..
1
No. This would not work. Blowing fuses is a one time process. Typically this is called OTP memory, one time programmable memory. It implementation is sorta LIKE blowing fuses, but it's more secure than that. It's one time programmable and to be secure, it must be only one time programmable.
1
Let's hope people realize this with climate change alarmism. These end of the world stuff is piles of bullshit.
1
Nah... you need to have lockable bootloaders. There's lots of firmware that should not be hackable...
1
@antikommunistischaktion agreed. I helped my team implement arm trustzone for a firmware project.
1
What if we redesign the circuit board? Complete replacement... They using fat IGBTs in there?
1
Its probably easier to learn to love what you do. I really love building cedar strip kayaks and canoes, but selling them.... building on a schedule to deliver them at a reasonable quality (i am fine with a few screwups or bubbles in the epoxy...) it would ruin the fun of that hobby.

College is a predatory SCAM. I actually HAVE a degree, a BS in applied physics and mathematics. I am grateful for the experience, but it sure was expensive. Only one if my friends is a laser physicist uses his degree. and another runs a science and futurism channel on YouTube, another became a CPA. I ended up as a developer for programming tools.
1
Sue them anyway! Those bastards!
1
@dascandy why? Life thrives in warmer environments. Besides, most of Bitcoin mining is done in China. How are you going to convince Chinese people who just want to catch a break and save for retirement to not mine Bitcoin? Why should the government regulate what Lenovo, a Chinese company, does with shit that they buy? If you don't like what Lenovo is doing, vote with your dollars. Don't buy Lenovo. Tell Lenovo that you won't buy a product if they implement secure boot on their CPUs for their motherboards. Why involve the government? You always need mommy to tell your friends to play the way YOU want to play?

The way you learn is the way scientist discover new things.
1
I used to buy gigabyte, but tech jesus says no. Tech jesus is steve...
1
@alexvids9232 indeed
1
I just don't want to by another one. I hate disposable tech. It should work for the next 30 years.
1
No bambu for me.
1
@javierflores09 seriously, the retired guys from Microsoft admitted this was th plan
1
Hmmm... I own a Honda... I will give them a call
1
I will get one, If it's repairable. If it's not made with slave labor.
1
My cat loves that brand.
1
Sounds like the canadian department of energy is corrupt as fuk.
1
I may just pirate them.
1
Shocker... the right thing is to not use the condom. Biological success is determined by passing on your genes. If you intentionally block that process, in some way you're defeating yourself. I guess from a biological perspective, your purpose is to procreate, be a father or mother.
1
Try again... you only fail if you give up. Its totally ok to take a step back and strategize.
