In case you're wondering, Bob lazars story remained largely consistent over the last 32 years.

Does being impartial make you feel any particular way? Righteous, perhaps? What are thoughts? What are emotions?

@svono_svono_music the idea that anthropogenic CO2 causes global warming is a hypothesis that has lots of evidence against it.

I think we call this a red pill.

Conway's game of life comes to mind.

Skeptical view asserts a certain bias against the reality of an observed phenomenon. There's due diligence to cross reference against other data, but that shows stuff on radar.

Humans are "super" life. We are a collection of things that are alive apart from us.

We say "verboten" in context of forbidden by the government

@Nathair so, did someone just invent this thing you call greed? Greed has alwaslys been around, but inflation was kept at about 2%. Greed cannot explain recent inflation because its really been around since protohumans 300k years ago.

@Jamestele1 if someone says something that is wrong, why would i have hurt feelings? Mostly, rightwingers find leftists as a sort of disagreeable hivemind, once you know someone is a total lefty, its like you're not talking to a person anymore, its as if you're able to guess all of their ideas and opinions. I bet that you might get the same thing with QAnon Trump hard righties, but these people are fairly nice otherwise. They will be civil and friendly if they disagree with you, even invite you for a bratworst and a beer despite your politics. A lefty... they will rip your heart out and cancel any of your friendships.

@damienryan3345 no, people paying attention havent shifted, its just that he is willing to have a conversation and listen. If you're left or right, dosen't matter. Lets just talk without screaming.
1
@Nathair 60% of inflation is caused by corporate greed? Can you cite your source on that?

@jacobjensen8592 are natural resources truely finite? If we use up one, we find another. We invent new tech to exploit other resources. Eventually, we'll mine asteroids and harvest solar power from space.

@mikehawk8526 read up what richard feynman and Einstein thought about peer review. Turns out there's shot tons of grant money at stake. The peer review process is totally broken, its more of a peer pressure process that squeezes out other ideas. And no, i dont think you have read any scientific papers. You're an idiot.
1
@ubermind-tim oh so clever. Your mommy help you with that one?
1
@thomascrane5749 sure, there is some anthropogenic changes to the climate... but evidence of a catastrophic warming from atmospheric CO2 isn't very good and there's evidence the so-called consensus has their heads collectively stuck ip their asses.
1
@TheUbuntuGardens well, there's also a finite amount of oil that can be processed at any given time. The big oil companies turned of several refineries, so our ability to refine it is limited too. The whole supply chain is important.

@svono_svono_music really no evidence that CO2 is responsible for any slight variation in oceanic pH. Besides, ocean pH is variable over different geographic areas. You recall the red king crabs? They are from the Bearing Sea which can get down to pH of 7.7. as far as I know, the king crabs are probably over fished just like everything else, but aside from that, they still grow and live there. Also, it probably SHOULD be called ocean neutralization, the oceans are not and will not become acidic. There's too much alkaline rocks in the ocean that buffer much change in pH.

Short answer yes.

The hole in the ozone hole is natural... The model did not work. DuPont stopped making CFCs because the damn patent on CFCs expired. If it were illegal to make CFC then it's profitable to invent a new patented substitute.
1
@PAlex-us4ov well ... good question. Diffusion is a thing, gasses mix and diffuse to maximize entropy. CFCs are pretty stable untill ionizing radiation breaks them up, like ultraviolet. There was a nobel prize for CFC role in ozone depletion, but scientists in the chemical industry were skeptical of the of their hypothesis and conclusions. The academics were convinced they were right so they called the industrial engineers biased. It was a whole bunch of scientists acting like grade school children, discrediting each other and lots of name calling.

This is a strawman of the simulation hypothesis.
