The full quote is: "Great spirits have always encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds. The mediocre mind is incapable of understanding the man who refuses to bow blindly to conventional prejudices and chooses instead to express his opinions courageously and honestly." Intelligence is not the focus here... Rather it's courage and honesty. The mediocre mind is not necessarily less intelligent. You could interpret a mediocre mind to mean one with less intelligence, but if you read the full context, that's not really what Einstein meant. You can be courageous and honest and possibly somewhat less intelligent, but your mind would not be "mediocre". Kinda makes me think about Elon musk.

Birds of a feather flock together. If you find yourself in crowds of stupid people, perhaps you are stupid too.

If you had that modicum of intelligence, perhaps you would find effective ways of dealing with the hords and throngs of stupid people around you.

@JaycF-ip2hz and you wonder why you have no friends. You think you are so much smarter than everyone else, yet you put yourself in a situation where you're "forced to deal with idiots" Way to go brainiac. You're not really using your immense brain power very well then... I work with lots of people that are way smarter than myself, doctorates in math and physics. They're not great at the computer science, but we all have strengths and weaknesses.

@ponesty no, you are alone. You're having delusions of high intelligence. Birds of a feather, flock together. If you look around and just see dumb people, it very well could be that you're dumb too. With that awareness, you may be able to do something about your lack of intelligence, or, more importantly your loneliness.

@fantabuloussnuffaluffagus yup, I like being around super smart people, despite being fairly average intelligence. It's kinda like standing on a step stool, but for brains.
