@MetalmouthKing Service manuals, which a lot of big manufacturers will actually give with the machines, or have available online. They sell machines and spares, and giving dimensions for parts allows you to tell when they are worn out.

Time to buy a pack of 10 brushes, that way the first one will last forever, because there are spare ones....

@CuttingEdgeEngineering Other one will be visiting next month, guaranteed.

Mines tend to flog the shit out of equipment, CAT stays there, along with Komatsu, because the stuff lasts, even though the operators are determined to find new and inventive ways to break it. Cat also has a crap ton of spare parts available most of the time, and good after sales support, which is very important as an hour of downtime can be 6 figures of loss per machine.

And both made from the same piece of left over plate as well, complementing each other to use minimal material, so the next tool can come out of there as well.

All of it.......

@francisschweitzer8431 Yes but those you normally assemble using both a big bath of liquid nitrogen and an even bigger oven, so that you get the 0.1mm clearance for just hand assembly, before the temperatures equalise, and they become one unit.

@mooseflunky4569 Machine don't run, mine don't run, ore or coal does not move to the train, and the mine foreman starts to grow into a demon. Remember that the mine can easily get a 8 figure fine, built into the contract, for missing a shipping window, and can also result in a power station or smelter having to shut down as well.

@CuttingEdgeEngineering And probably found them both about 2 hours after you had finished, and were putting the new ones away as well. That is how I ended up with 4 12 inch adjustable nut rounders, and a new 12 inch Stillson wrench.
