  3. Yes and car driver gets both a ticket for obstruction, plus now has to pay for the damage to the truck, and then cry when insurance declines them coverage and any payment for deliberately doing the damage.

  4.  @alexclement7221  Just jack up the trailer, pull fifth wheel and leave it like that. fully laden he pulls out, slams on the brakes when the hose tears, and then the trailer drops to it's knees. Now he is also done over for failing to inspect his rig, and also for the cargo damage, along with the trailer.

  5. Video though is a slam dunk as to the claim for damages from the transit company. Just file in small claims, and wait for the date, and the no show default judgement with the video evidence.

Yes all the HOA has to do is file the claim with Uhaul in small claims, and when they do not show up, and the HOA gets the default judgement, they simply go to the local bank Uhaul uses and give them the garnish order. Uhaul will find the renter fast enough, and use the card to recover the money, plus tack on extra charges for damage to the truck as well.

  12. biker can always claim they were in lane, car turning across oncoming traffic is 100% at fault for deliberately turning against oncoming traffic, without it being clear to do so. they went despite the oncoming traffic having priority right of way, as the left lane was going straight, the right lane had turned and the biker was in the lane going straight, not lane splitting, he had the full right lane occupied.

  13. Yes but report the incident with the police anyway, so that he does not figure out the next day to say hit and run with his insurance, and get it fixed for free. Report sent to his insurance will stop that claim right off, as he basically admitted to the accident being his fault.

  14. Or put in a claim with whichever government entity owns the freeway, as they all have self insured to cover damage. construction zone the onus is on the road owner to take the appropriate care and patrolling to prevent this.

  15. Had slowed down to under 20, and had the lights on. Other driver at fault because you always have to check the intersection is clear before entering, and if the cars in all other lanes are slowing down and stopping that is a very big warning that the intersection has something happening there, and you need to slow down immediately and prepare to stop. Basic things in defensive driving.....

Yes, got to pay for the costs of 5 vehicles, plus the big rig, and also likely got hit with his insurer refusing to cover the damage for their own vehicle as well, citing the video as a deliberate illegal act. then refused coverage, so now has to both try to figure out how to pay for the damages, and get another vehicle as well, plus the court case that likely came from this.

  19. You can easily buckle the rear of the frame with that kind of impact, as it will crumple as protection. That the manufacturers do not make that section as a separate piece, that you can simply bolt in as repair, is because those extra 4 inches of steel, and 8 bolts, was costed out as too expensive. Just like Ford and the Pinto, using a plastic shroud was an extra 60c on the price, despite it being required in the other major market. That they tested one "off the assembly line" to prove it was also faked, they deliberately brought one from the Canadian plant, that had the shroud installed for this market, and of course it did not catch fire, by design, while the US ones continued to burn, because they figured the cost of the lawsuits was cheaper.

No4 what do you expect driving with painted on rubber on a rim. with potholes so common best is to get higher profile rims, and actual sidewall to handle the impacts, you will not blow out so many tyres because you went for the "but i got such thin rubber" look, and as a bonus smoother ride, and a shed load cheaper as well.

  24. He will not come home with a blue eye brake checking a big rig that runs over him, and the driver hopefully has a dashcam that shows the car driver deliberately trying to cause the accident. You could use the video to get the plate, and find his insurer, and ask if they still want to insure this high risk client. Guaranteed they will drop him, citing risky and erratic driving, and thus his next insurer will load the rates.

Standing joke the biggst biker gang is the Checkers 60 sixty bikers, because they are all over, and drive like they own the road. Did see one recently being beaten up with his own helmet, because he rear ended a BMW, and the driver was a tad upset. Just drove around them on the pavement, like the other cars did, while the woman up the road waiting for her delivery was looking on. just another friday afternoon in South Africa, did tell the neighbourhood watch car a little further on he might want to go watch the fun, but not worth making the call to Metro police, who would already know the biker has no insurance, and probably no license either, and also illegal immigrant as well, because you need zero paperwork to become a driver for these delivery services.

  31. With the red light runners by me I stop for green lights, and when it goes green at some I wait for the other side to decide it probably is actually red, because often you find a good number just fly through the red.

Another, because he had a few come close to the house, simply brought every rock from the fields home, and laid them out in a bed there, so that nothing would make it through to the house.

  42.  @calculator1841  Small claims, they serve Uhaul, as the owner of record on the vehicle, and then the onus is on Uhaul to provide details of the renter. I am betting they are as organised as the other vehicle rental companies, so will both fail to provide the details before the date, and also fail to show as well. Thus the default judgement, and this then will provide "incentive" to provide the renter details, or institute the claim against them anyway, or bill the card, which is the likely result as least trouble for the office.

  44.  @ilyfrankh  Quite a lot of transit bus systems are no longer operated by a public entity, but are operated under a private company for them. A tiny bit of paperwork that ringfences the liability of the local government, as in general public transit almost never runs at a profit.

  46. Semi has the same rights on the road, and can be in any lane, just like a regular vehicle. Also allowed to overtake, and return to the right lane after doing so, to allow traffic to pass. Car driver is just showing he has an issue with other vehicles being in front of him, and definitely compensating for something, either lack of hair, lack of ability or some other thing.

  47.  @IsleNaK  Yes but most highways and freeways allow them in all lanes, except for steep grades and in certain conditions, where they must keep to the slow lane. Certain roads have length and weight restrictions as well, more because they do not fit.

Under the legal limit means you can definitely get a case against the other party, Because they tested positive they were driving while impaired, which means that they bear all responsibility and costs as well, though from the looks of the truck the amount you can get at auction depends on the amount of fuel in the tank.

  49. Police cant find the driver, simply put a small claims court case in for damages. He does not show after the summons, you get the win, and simply place a lien on either the car or get a garnishment order off his pay. Truck you get a repo order, and have it taken and sold to defray costs.
