  2. Put out food by the garden, and they will come there, and as stuff goes in stuff comes out. You just have to provide perches for them over where you want it to land. Water as well, the 2 bird baths have a regular morning parade of birds coming by, and the various types come by at various times to splash and drink.

  3. Easy, if it is advertised and promoted without health claims backed up it is bad for you. If it is boring stuff that your great great grandparents made then it is good for you ( within reason) and probably totally unavailable now. Bread is good, but not the stuff you buy on a shelf. You have to make it from scratch from wholewheat flour and not use anything other than yeast.
