  1. Same for washing machines, I live in a soft water area, so use a quarter of the "manufacturer recommended" dose, and it works well, with no residue, and no floating growth in the machine either. Also not connected to hot water, and the generic Unilever store brand detergent as well, because, shockingly, the biggest difference between brands is the scent package, and the amount of brighteners added, along with possibly a slightly different amount of borax as filler.
