  1. @fdhgbjsk The two big advantages that the US currently has over Europe are: 1) Less dependence on imported natural resources: in part this is due to the US embrace of fracking, but mainly it's because the Europe is more densely populated and was the first continent to industrialize. 2) Big Tech: network effects make it a very winner-take-all industry, and Europe cannot compete effectively because the European market is too fragmented and the national markets are too small. As a result DailyMotion (French) couldn't compete with Youtube, XING (German) couldn't compete with LinkedIn and Tuenti (Spanish) couldn't compete with Facebook.
